Treme' District
The Treme' district is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, and early in the city's history was the main neighborhood of free people of color. Historically a racially mixed neighborhood, it remains an important center of the city's African-American and Créole culture, especially the modern brass band tradition.
Getting around
We are conveniently located on Esplanade Avenue, 2 blocks north of the north corner of the French Quarter. A 15 minute walk takes you into the heart of the Quarter while a 10 minute walk takes you to Frenchman Street.
A streetcar station is located 2 blocks away on N. Rampart and Esplanade.
